Extra little steps… happier, healthier people, creatures and planet

Our stance on animal testing and keeping it natural

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with the impacts of climate change and consumerism: oceans of plastic, rising pollution and commercially-farmed animals. It’s understandable that we can stick our heads in the sand and not look up when it feels so big. But if you’re already on the Aura-Soma path to deeper self-discovery, then you’re already connecting to a greater good and together we can move mountains...

What we’re doing

We hope it comes as no surprise that all our products are 100% cruelty free, and that’s the way it’s been since we were founded in 1983. This means we don’t test on animals or use anything of animal origin in any product we produce; all our products are free from parabens, lanolin, petrolatum and phthalates and suitable for vegans.

Our ethos of staying close to nature’s heart means we couldn’t do it any other way, and because we believe that feeling good is about doing good, the cycle of giving to receive is paramount to every step of our formulating process. Thanks to our strict biodynamic farming methods we cultivate and select our own plants using methods that give back to the earth, creatures and the people who depend on them, while significantly limiting our carbon footprint. Wherever possible, we extract our floral waters and herbal tinctures at the very moment our plants are picked, retaining the integrity that nature intended.

Progress is compassion-led innovation, not cruelty

How can we make a better world, help people realise their true potential, calm their energetic systems and connect them to a deeper way of being, without being the change we want to see? In our view, it’s a no brainer. That’s why our non-animal tests are extensive, ensuring a consistent purity for our products and peace of mind for all who use them; and why we go above and beyond to be an environmentally sustainable business in pioneering ways.

What you can do

With 3.5 million British people giving up animal products in recent years and the public outcry on climate change, it’s great to see a wider collection of brands listening up. From the beauty products you use, to the ice cream you eat and the clothes you wear - your purchase is your power.

By making sure you buy animal-friendly products, you - the customer - are able to join others in sending a mighty message to the 80% of countries that currently have no ban on animal testing, as, despite a burgeoning cosmetic industry, leading brands are still testing on animals.

Supporting eco-friendly products and asking brands on social media how they source their products, means you can harness your purchasing power to influence companies in the way they produce their products too.
