Aura-Soma

OUR FAVOURITE HEALTH AND WELLNESS RESOURCES

Here at Aura-Soma we try to be the best version of ourselves and make a positive impact on the world around us. But there is always something new to learn, to explore, and to improve. And much of this happens through absorbing the teachings of others.

Here, we share some of our favourite health and wellbeing magazines, blogs, YouTube videos, and podcasts. We’d love to know what yours are too - why not let us know on our Facebook page?

Blogs

Zen Habits

Zen Habits by Leo Babauta is a gem of a website all about finding simplicity and mindfulness in the daily chaos of our lives. It’s about clearing the clutter so we can focus on what’s important, create something amazing, and find happiness. It has over a million readers. We love the simplicity of the site and its design - letting the thoughtful writing ring loud and clear.

Tiny Buddha

On Tiny Buddha you’ll find posts about happiness, love, relationships, change, meaning, mindfulness, spirituality, simplicity, minimalism, letting go, and more. Founded in 2009 by Deschene, Tiny Buddha has emerged as a leading resource for peace and happiness, with close to three million monthly readers.

Jasmine Hemsley

A wellbeing expert, Jasmine Hemsley has inspired a global audience to shift their perspectives on food and lifestyle. With a passion for home-cooked food and natural remedies, she encourages us a return to a simpler, more mindful everyday life. Something we can definitely get behind. Her recipes are delicious too.

Magazines

Breathe magazine

Breathe Magazine, based in Australia - but also with a UK version,  is a mindfulness magazine for a calmer and more relaxed you. This body-and-soul guide to a happier, healthier life includes five sections – wellbeing, living, mindfulness, creativity, and escape. We love that each issue includes beautiful illustrations and inspiring features such as how to achieve relief from stress, increase resilience and find greater happiness. And one of the best things? There’s even a Teen Breathe, helping young adults learn the importance of looking after their wellbeing.

Mindbodygreen

Mindbodygreen takes a 360-degree approach to wellness incorporating mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and environmental well-being - because these pillars of wellness are vital and interconnected. It’s why they’ve called themselves Mindbodygreen (with one word, not three). We’re completely behind their ethos that wellness is a shared journey, with their community of voices each offering unique perspectives to cultivate a life of greater meaning, connection, fulfilment, and purpose.

In the flow magazine

Created in the Netherlands, In the Flow magazine is now one of Europe’s most popular mindfulness and wellbeing magazines. A magazine of unhurried time, it's all about doing things differently and making new choices. Flow is all about positive psychology, mindfulness, creativity and the beauty of imperfection. We love the beautiful illustrations and the free gift in each issue made from the same paper as the magazine is printed.

YouTube channels

Yoga with Adriene

This YouTube channel is perfect for beginners to yoga, or those who have been doing it for years. We love a bit of yoga here at Aura-Soma, and the calming effect it has, and this channel has the perfect mix. It’s one of YouTube’s most popular channels and includes a 30-day yoga challenge.

Podcasts

Happier with Gretchen Rubin

Author of a number one bestselling book The Happiness Project, Gretchen Rubin’s podcast offers her practical, manageable advice about happiness and good habits. Her co-host and guinea pig is her younger sister, Elizabeth Craft, a TV writer and producer living in Los Angeles, who (lovingly) refers to Gretchen as her happiness bully.

Ted Talks

Ted Talks are the go-to resource the world over for inspiring talks on just about any subject. From career to health and science to art, it’s a pretty much a guaranteed resource for inspiration and thought-provoking insight into the world we live in. There’s a mobile app and a podcast too, which helps the Aura-Soma team get their inspiration fix no matter where they are.
